How the Feeder Works

Feeds such as shelled corn, seed, or processed feeds are put in the feed container.

The feed falls through the hole in the bottom of the feed container and fills up the funnel on the feeder.

The feed comes out of the funnel and rests on the spinner plate. The feed does not drain off the spinner plate due to the clogging force developed.

When the feeder is activated, the spinner plate spins at a high rate of speed. The feed spins from the center of the plate to the outer edges where it is tossed out in a 20-foot diameter circle. This is why it is important to always wear safety glasses when near the feeder, and keep fingers away from the spinner plate. As the feed in the center of the plate spins out, more feed falls down the feed funnel until the spinner plate stops. When the spinner plate stops, the clogging force again stops the feed until the next activation.
